We define diaphragmatic hernia a dislocation of entrails and abdominal organs into thoracic cavity

We define diaphragmatic hernia a dislocation of entrails and abdominal organs into thoracic cavity through congenital or acquired openings of the diaphragm. The diaphragm is a muscle that divides thorax from abdomen and it is actively involved in respiration. Most of diaphragmatic hernia that  we find into dogs and cats are caused by traumas, due to car accidents in which they are run over by motor vehicles.
