I first would like to say it is an honor to be invited to your Country and have an opportunity to see the American Bully’s of Italy, and to have a chance to meet and speak with the breed supporters.

For those who do not know of me, I am Dave Wilson the founder of the Razors Edge bloodline. I am also one of the founders of the American Bully Kennel Club, Atomic Dogg Magazine, and the American Bully breed.

I have been breeding and showing AKC American Staffordshire Terriers, and UKC American Pit Bull Terriers since the late 80’s. I began creating my own bloodline, Razors Edge in 1990.

Towards the end of the 1990’s the UKC had changed its standards towards a style of dog very different than it was in previous years, and very different from my style of dogs. By then my line had a different look then many other American Pit Bull Terrier lines, so I decided to take my line another direction.

In 2004 we decided to call our dogs American Bully’s and we partnered with a few other bloodlines that had been breeding many years for a “Bullier” style of dog. Aside from just the physical characteristic differences in our lines per other American Pit Bull Terrier lines, we also bred for a different temperament. We bred for a dog with a mellower demeanor and we bred out most of the dog aggression. Being that our dogs were very different in many ways and had been bred this way for many generations and years, we felt there were enough differences to legitimately give the breed its own place and name.

In October of 2004 the American Bully Kennel Club (ABKC) was created to give registrations and to validate the American Bully as a true breed. The ABKC wrote the standards for the breed and set a criterion for what made dogs eligible to be entered into the breeds stud books and be used as the brood stock for the American Bully breed.

From 2004 to the present the American Bully breed and its following have grown considerably, and the breed now is considered its own breed and has a world wide following.

I am proud to have played a part in the creation and be able to play a part in the future of this breed.

I am very honored to have been invited to Italy and have an opportunity to see all the American Bully’s and to meet the supporters of the breed.
